Cory Morrow

Cory Morrow didn’t become a Texas legend by being quiet. He sings about strippers and Jesus with equal fervor. While this dichotomy may leave those on either side of the moral equator perplexed – the answer is actually very simple. Cory Morrow is beautifully and uncomfortably transparent. From the beer soaked, cocaine laden days of his early career, to today’s more sober and spiritual leg of the journey, one thing about Morrow has never changed – as goes Cory’s life, goes Cory’s songs – and that’s never been more evident than on his newest studio release “Whiskey & Pride”.

The record, set to drop in September 2018, is an aggressive blend of early Morrow sound with a current day perspective. Vintage feel from an evolving heart and mind. The title track, “Whiskey & Pride” features the age-old struggle of love versus ego and cleverly straddles the line of sermon and self-deprecation. The twist comes in the form of a mirror behind a bar that reveals the true identity of the accuser. The track, which is also the first single release, features the Texas Country-style instrumentation prevalent in Morrow’s early days, including steel guitar phenom and producer of “Whiskey & Pride”, Lloyd Maines.

Bottomland

Bottomland is a unique southeast Texas blend of southern rock and country roots featuring Cannon Brand and Justin Lane Gates. The newly formed duo is comprised of the two singer/songwriters who have paid their dues in the honky-tonks and listening rooms of the Lone Star State. Their collaboration magnifies the talents of both while producing an unmistakeable sound that is garnering attention from fans and the music industry alike.
In an era of viral trends, Bottomland is slugging it out the old fashioned way. On the road. Their live show is the cornerstone of the growing brand and their passion. Towing the line between Texas-country and rock influences like Blink-182, Bottomland delivers live like few young bands on the scene. And yes, while they are more than appreciative to interact online, it’s with the hope they’ll see you in front of the stage soon.

Real Life Real Music

Real Life kicked off in March of 2007 after Hutton and wife Tara stopped into the newly constructed Dosey Doe for a quick lunch. “I couldn’t believe the place,” says Hutton. “It’s so unassuming when you’re driving down I-45 at 70mph, but inside it’s like another place in time.” Owner Steve Said and Kyle met that day and the rest is history. “It was evident that Steve and I shared a vision about how the music and the artists should be presented and treated,” Hutton states. “I pitched the idea for the series and a few meetings later we we’re headfirst into Season One.”

The first season of Real Life began in March of 2007 with longtime Hutton friend and co-writer Roger Creager. Graystone Hills, a Friendswood Development Company master planned community, signed on as a corporate partner that first season and remains a proud supporter of the series. Not far into the inaugural season Hutton, along with David Amato and Karen White of 99.7 KVST began conversations that led to Real Life Real Music Radio. Each 90 minute live show is taped and edited into a 1 hour broadcast. “KVST is our home station,” exclaims Hutton. “While we are now in syndication in numerous markets blanketing the state of Texas in order to take this music to a broader audience, KVST is a vital part of our history.” Now in its thirteenth season with over 150 radio shows, Real Life’s library reads like a “who’s who” of Texas and Americana music.
